Rick Padgett is Now Yell County Sheriff-Elect

Chief Rick Padgett, who won the March Primary Election for sheriff will not have an opponent as thought in the November General Election.

According to Yell County Election officials, two men, Kyle Pippin and Kenny Cooper filed as Independents for the Sheriff’s position for the November General Election.

Neither Pippin or Cooper filed by the deadline at noon, May 1, 2026, their required signatures and additional paperwork with the Yell County Clerks’ office.

Therefore Padgett is the Sheriff-Elect who will take office January 1, 2027.
