School Elections Begin In March

School Elections Change

There are some major changes in the election laws for Arkansas and Yell County for both primary elections (covered in YCR Edition 4, Jan. 24) and school elections (Edition 5, Jan. 31).

For  the first time ever, school boards have the option to choose when their school elections will be held- either in the May primary election or the November general election.

School Board Elections:

• Danville: Primary Elections (May 22nd)
• Dardanelle: Primary Elections (May 22nd)
• Two Rivers: Primary Elections (May 22nd)
• Western Yell Co.: General Elections (November 6th)

Filing For Candidacy Deadlines Changed

Any school board candidate (by zone) must file during the February 22nd to March 1st deadline of political candidates.
